Who doesn’t love a great view? There are so many wonderful places in Berlin for views, but the city also has lots of great cocktail bars. So why not combine the two and check out one of the best rooftop bars in Berlin for views of the city with a drink?
This list of rooftop bars in Berlin will show you where to go for a drink with a view on your Berlin itinerary.
Where to stay in Berlin
Berlin has lots of great neighborhoods for you to stay in and explore. If you’re visiting Berlin for the first time, it might be best for you stay somewhere central.
Many of the attractions are in Mitte or easily connected to Mitte by Berlin’s public transport, so you should stay somewhere in that region. Here are a few hotels we recommend.
For a more detailed look at the different neighborhoods and our hotel recommendations, check out our guide to where to stay in Berlin.

Hotel de Rome
If you’re looking for a truly special place to enjoy a drink or two on a backdrop of Berlin’s cityscape, Hotel de Rome will do the trick. This five-star hotel features its very own rooftop terrace that boasts an exclusive vista of Bebelplatz, complete with Berlin State Opera and St. Hedwig’s Cathedral on the skyline.
It’s an ideal spot to share a bottle of wine on a sunny afternoon, or sip a cocktail as the sun sets over the city. And thanks to the resident DJ and reasonably priced food, Hotel de Rome is an ideal place to catch up with friends or embark on a special date night.

Motel One Upper West
This place may be called a “motel”, but there’s a lot more going on here than the name implies. Located just opposite Zoo Palast, Motel One itself has been designed with the concept of cinema in mind, so you can expect glamorous spaces adorned with images of Golden Age movie stars and props from the films of yesteryear.
Its rooftop bar is a chic outdoor space on the 10th floor, looking out over Charlottenburg. Specifically, you’ll be able to see the Victory Column, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, and Tiergarten Park, all from the comfort of your table.
The bar is open to hotel guests, as well as those just passing through. Gin fans rejoice: the juniper spirit is the specialty here, with over 40 different types to try.

Monkey Bar

The Monkey Bar aptly takes its name from what you can see if you perch here with a drink: views of the monkeys at Berlin Zoo. This is the hotel bar at the 25Hours Hotel, but it’s worth coming here even if you’re not staying at the hotel.
Boasting a fun atmosphere, the 8th-floor bar is a funky space with regular DJ sets, an eclectic menu of cocktails and fine wines, as well as delicious bites served up from the kitchen.
Open throughout the day for a refreshing drink or two, as the sun sets you can see the city light up across the treetops of the zoo. The rooftop deck, as well as the floor-to-ceiling windows inside, makes Monkey Bar a great spot all year round.
My husband and I often come here to celebrate milestones like birthdays and anniversaries. We’ve even stayed at the hotel, and it really is fantastic.

Klunkerkranich
Top floor of a parking garage, you say? Not the venue you’d expect to find a hip rooftop bar, but that’s exactly the setting for Klunkerkranich: a parking garage set among the trendy bars and creative spaces of Neukölln.
As you may imagine, this is something of a hidden spot in Berlin where you’ll find groups of friends together on beer garden-style wooden benches.
The recommendation is to go at sunset for a few beers. Half the fun is getting there, so make sure you leave enough time to make it up to the bar – through the mall and up to the former parking garage, obviously.

Deck5 Skybeach
How about an artificial beach combined with city views? That’s what you’ll get at Deck5 Skybeach, a unique rooftop beach bar that exchanges the Spree River for skyline views out over Berlin – and with no skimping on the tropical vibes.
With plenty of space, sand strewn around, loungey seats to kick back on, and laid-back music, it’s easy to think that you’re actually on a beach – and not on the roof of a former parking garage (that’s the actual location). Pretty cool!
Berlin TV Tower

You can see the TV Tower from a lot of other rooftop bars in Berlin, but if you want to see what’s up (or down) from this icon of the city, you’re in luck: you can choose from not just one but two bars here.
Well, mainly there’s a restaurant – the appropriately named Sphere, a revolving eatery with 360 views of the city.
Or try Bar 203 on the viewing platform level. Claiming to be the highest bar in Berlin, from here you can enjoy cocktails while gazing out across the city from the tallest structure in Germany.
Not bad, right?
Here are our recommendations for TV Tower tickets:
Gallery Rooftop Bar at Hotel Indigo
For something a little more sophisticated, make a beeline to Gallery Rooftop Bar at Hotel Indigo.

Located at Mercedes Platz, overlooking the Spree River as well as remnants of the Berlin Wall (East Side Gallery, to be precise), this rooftop bar is a modern space with a classy lounge atmosphere. Expect floor-to-ceiling windows for warm winters inside and an outdoor terrace for balmy evenings.
I quite enjoyed the view over the Spree River, which includes the Oberbaum Bridge, the East Side Gallery, and off in the distance, you can even see the TV Tower.
The order of the day (or night) at Gallery Rooftop Bar are the cocktails, which you can sit and sip happily until 2 a.m. – I recommend the Tiki Mana. They also have a selection of small plates and dinner dishes. You’ll find it on the 8th floor of Hotel Indigo, and it’s one of my favorite bars in Friedrichshain, especially for the view.

AMANO Bar on Auguststraße
In the winter months, AMANO Bar on Auguststraße is Hotel AMANO’s chic lobby bar. But as summer in Berlin arrives and the weather warms up, the bar extends up to the 6th floor where Berliners congregate to enjoy the ambience of its hip rooftop bar.
Despite being on the 6th floor, the skyline views from AMANO Bar are pretty amazing.
Paired with the selection of drinks and gastronomic options that really elevates the proceedings, this rooftop bar is truly a difficult one to leave. It’s easy to spend all evening here, from sunset to the wee hours.

ZOE Bar Hotel ZOE by AMANO
Another 6th-floor spot for your drinking and dining needs, and another curated by AMANO, ZOE Bar is an outdoor terrace found on the roof of Hotel ZOE in Berlin Mitte. This sunny summer spot features a laid-back wooden deck with comfy lounge furniture, all shaded by large awnings and boasting near-panoramic views of Berlin’s skyline.
The vibe here is most certainly chilled out, so just find yourself a corner on a sunny afternoon and unwind with a cooling G&T, or make your way through the inventive cocktail menu as the stars start to twinkle above the city.

Weekend Club/House of Weekend

If 6th-floor views aren’t enough for you, then perhaps the 17th-storey splendor on offer at Weekend Club (formerly known as House of Weekend) might just cut it. Located on Alexanderplatz, this hip spot provides a happening enclave for Berliners in the know – 83 meters above the city streets.
Here you’ll find people gathering to start their nights out, enjoying sundowners as DJs warm the crowd up for the evening to follow. Choose from a list of cocktails, sip on wines, or just enjoy a beer as you gaze out on one of Berlin’s best rooftop bar views.
Feel like dancing already? There’s a club a couple of floors down.
Grace Rooftop Hotel Zoo
A chilled spot in Charlottenburg, Grace Rooftop can be found high above the lobby at Hotel Zoo (7th floor).
Open for the summer season only, this rooftop bar boasts mesmerizing 270-degree views out across the city. Rightly, perhaps, it claims to be one of the most beautiful rooftop bars in the city.
Reflecting the design at the boutique hotel, Grace Rooftop oozes a glamorous 1920s aesthetic. It’s fairly compact as well, with room for only around 100 people to gather, but there are plenty of cozy sofas and couches to recline on while you sip champagne and cocktails.
Studio 14 – The rbb Dachlounge
A combined broadcasting studio, restaurant and bar, Studio 14 is the hub for a number of radio stations in Berlin.
But also, of course, it’s a space for Berlin’s cool kids to come and enjoy a cocktail while soaking up stunning visuals of the city. This 14th-floor bar is best visited after dark, when the surrounding city is lit up and DJs spin funky beats.
Don’t worry if you haven’t had dinner yet – you won’t have to move. Not only are there cocktails concocted here, but a variety of international dishes are served up, too. If it’s summer, opt for a seat on the sun terrace.

Loft14

A four-star design hotel in Friedrichshain, Vienna House Andel’s Hotel has a reputation for the finer things, and Loft14 is the crowning glory. This bar sits 65 meters above the ground, boasting incredible panoramic views of the Berlin cityscape.
As you recline in a powder pink couch, teal chair, or any number of mid-century modern furniture, you can sip a cocktail among a mixed crowd of businessmen and hipsters.
Hungry? Well, over at the Michelin-starred Skykitchen, there’s the option to dine on culinary delights high in the sky in a stylish 1960s aesthetic.
Meisterschüler
When the sun’s been shining, there’s no better place to be than out on the terrace at Meisterschüler. Literally translating to “Master Student”, this contemporary art gallery in Berlin Mitte provides an intimate space for around 40 people to enjoy cocktails with views out over the River Spree.
During the day, friends lunch and brunch over coffees following a stroll around the art on show here, but in the evenings champagne and signature cocktails flow. It may be small here, but the menu is impressive.
The best part? It’s open till 4 a.m., so night owls can really let loose.
SOHO House
Part of the international private members club, SOHO House Berlin is a fashionable locale for all your rooftop bar needs in the city. Located close to Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Mitte, much like other SOHO House venues, to visit you have to be a member of SOHO House.
But if you know someone who knows someone, you’ll be able to enter into a world of cool design and chic scenery. The rooftop terrace here boasts a heated outdoor pool, where you can pull up a sun lounger; alternatively, grab a seat at the bar and have a bite to eat as you enjoy this exclusive setting.
